A coastal native

Taupata occurs around coastal cliffs, rocky shores and coastal forest. Its thick leaves have a distinctive glossy surface.

Exposure changes the shape

It can be low and spreading in exposed places, or become a shrub or small tree in shelter. Check its appropriateness for the locality and garden rather than assuming every coastal site is suitable.

Sample information only. Nursery stock, plant form, suitability, mature spread and growing details need confirmation. This is not a claim of local provenance.
